줄거리 : 게이비, 칩, 아지는 해군인데 그들의 함대가 뉴욕에 정박하면서, 하루 동안의 외출을 나가게 된다. 뉴욕에 대한 환상을 가지고 있는 그들은 시내 구경을 하기로 하고 지하철을 타고 시내로 간다. 지하철에서 게이비는 꿈속에 그리던 이상형을 보는데, 그녀는 아이비 스미스로 미스 지하철로 뽑힌 뉴욕의 평범한 여성이다. 게이비는 한 번 스친 아이비를 찾으려 하고 그녀를 찾는 도중에 아지와 칩 역시 좋아하는 상대를 만나게 된다.
