New wrestling weight classes likely coming for 2011-12

I wanted to update this post I put up earlier, clarifying that the WIAA Executive Board must approve these new weight classes for boys wrestling before they are implemented here. Jim Meyerhoff, WIAA assistant executive editor, said that is likely.
He also said the Executive Board may decide to change the girls weights as well, depending on a survey of girls coaches. That vote would come in July.
On to the original post:
New weight classes for high-school boys wrestling have been adopted by the National Federation of State High School Associations and will be used starting this next season.
Mike Colbrese, executive director of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Assocation, said wrestling coaches in our state are supportive of the changes, which are the most significant since 1988, when the lowest weight class increased from 98 pounds to 103.
Now, the lowest class will be 106 and most of the others have been adjusted upward as well. The only ones remaining the same are 145, 152, 160 and 285 (the largest class).
Current weight classes for boys are 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215 and 285. Starting next season (2011-12), they will be 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220 and 285.
