Mike W This series started a little slow, was hard to know what was going on, but after a few episodes it took off, was a fantastic series, all three seasons. The creators certainly aren't afraid to kill off major characters, which is unusual. Overall, there's quite a strong statement about living a life of crime in this series, I think, but it's subtle and shown rather than told. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review marina p Absolutely great for originality, the plot, the acting Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/14/23 Full Review Lukas K Difficult family relationships, trust issues and everyone is corrupt - that's how "Suburra" can be summed up quickly. I approached the series with expectations that unfortunately weren't met. I was looking forward to an exciting Italian mafia series and I got an extremely long-winded one, with characters that hardly develop and are played by actors who apparently only attended drama school for a visit. If you don't care about a very slow series with acting at a rather low level, you can definitely spend your hours here, but I definitely wouldn't recommend the series for anyone, who wants to have fun, because the series barely has any highlights. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/10/23 Full Review Danny Absolutely brilliant fantastic, following similar series like Gomorrah, this was my favourite only slightly though as I love them both ,truly excellent 😀 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/20/22 Full Review Audience Member Great series, there are some unexplained holes in the plot, and some moments seem to be stretched (like the most powerful gangster in Rome personally kills people, risking by his freedom? seriously? he doesn't have his mobsters?) But overall, great story, amazing actors. Worth watching Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Fast moving thriller that is worth watching. Overstated acting and semi credible plot but lots of twists and turns do seem to work and I wanted to keep watching until the very last episode Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Sean T. Collins Decider Suburra has been punching above its weight class from the jump. Jun 21, 2018 Full Review Hanh Nguyen indieWire Its depiction of a modern-day Rome with all the evil that men do is a raw and compelling one, uncolored by sentiment and nostalgia. This could be Netflix's next big foreign addiction. Rated: B+ Oct 7, 2017 Full Review Alex Tadel PopMatters If we understand here Rome as Suburra portrays it, eternity then belongs to the clash between the pretty facades and the ugly truth behind them, and to the lure of the facade which prevents us from recognising it as a mirage. Mar 23, 2022 Full Review Christopher Carroll The New York Review of Books Suburra, in particular, manages to combine the pacing of a thriller with an almost sociological diorama of Roman society, a slicker, abbreviated version of The Wire's portrait of Baltimore. Mar 27, 2018 Full Review Jade Budowski Decider The international crime drama marks the platform's first foray into Italian language, and it is dark - in the best, most watchable way possible. Dec 19, 2017 Full Review David Wharton The Daily Dot While there's a lot going on in Suburra, the show knows how to hook you in the beginning. Oct 13, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews
