This adaptation of the "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" tale is a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror and the occult. In the reimagined origin story, Sabrina Spellman wrestles to reconcile her dual nature -- half-witch, half-mortal -- while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family -- including aunts Hilda and Zelda -- and the daylight world humans inhabit. Kiernan Shipka ("Mad Men") leads the cast in the titular role of the show that is based on a comic series of the same name.

The casting was flawless Kiernan Shipka was absolutely perfectly cast and was uniformly brilliant through out as was her styling, lipstick was always scene appropriate and perfect. The premise of season 1 was really great, loved it, very solid series opener. Highly enjoyable

I didn't want to like this. And there are parts that I hate - the in-your-face wokeness of some of the characters like Sabrina's friends (WICCA, anyone?) and the dialog that no actual teenager has ever uttered. It's very satanic. Literally. I was taken aback in the first episode by how dark this show is. Cannibalism, praising satan, flagellation, orgies, eating children, succubi, etc. But... it's stylish and entertaining. I would not let your kids under 15 watch it, as there is a lot of real life satanism, occultism, and some sexual activity. But it's fun for the discerning adult.
