ellen j Slow moving, low budget confection that seems to expect the beauty of the main protagonist to distract from the philosophical and plot deficiencies. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This serie is really good. I don't understand why they want to cancel it. The plot is good and different. Netflix please I want to see season 2. I need it back :( Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Very good series. Kept us glued to the end. We hope for series 2. Best new Netflix series in a long time Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member When teenagers Harry and June run away from their repressive families to be together, they're derailed by an extraordinary discovery - June's ability to shape-shift. A scientist tries to capture her and discover the key to her power. I say drill through the opening episodes because that'll be where things get really interesting. Drama, Horror, Mystery get very compelling as this excellent story and concept progress. I enjoyed The Innocents for what it was. The series can be heavy-handed at times, which is a good thing. It is a creative and intriguing premise. You'll find yourself wanting to unravel the mystery and see how everything fits together. Jack Seale Guardian Unless you're happy just to wallow in yearning, the show's failure to go any deeper makes it a po-faced slog. It is less Let the Right One In and more Twilight. Dec 15, 2018 Full Review Catherine Drake Little White Lies As with many a horror heroine, June must navigate her desires, newfound power and personal relationships and make it out alive. All the while, we're left holding out for the happy ending we've come to expect from teenage romance. Rated: 3/5 Dec 15, 2018 Full Review John Doyle Globe and Mail The sci-fi and supernatural aspects, as they become more obvious and key ingredients in the plot, are handled with pragmatism rather than predictable soaring into the fantastical and the gory. Aug 31, 2018 Full Review Tejah Wilson Black Girl Nerds The Innocents is a beautiful show. The visuals alone make it appealing, but the great acting and storyline is something different that we haven't really seen before or at least in while. Rated: 4.5/5 Dec 15, 2018 Full Review Ian Sandwell Digital Spy The crucial thing though is that The Innocents never feels like it's treading water and doesn't feel like a slog, so you can forgive the tonal missteps especially for a show so early in its run. Dec 15, 2018 Full Review Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network I enjoyed The Innocents for what it was and that is better than I expected from it. The story is fairly easy to follow and the stakes do earn some investment if you watch the whole series. Rated: 7/10 Dec 15, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
