Final Space doesn't always hit its mark, but for those looking for a bite-sized intergalactic comedy it may prove an amusing diversion.

Steve Greene indieWire Final Space is working from a template, but it's adding colors that make these journeys well worth taking. Rated: B+ Feb 26, 2018 Full Review Karen Han The Daily Beast Like most shows, it falls prey to the rule of "give it a few episodes and then it'll get good," but it's charmingly animated and bite-sized to boot, so it's worth sitting through the shaky opening episodes to get to what lies beyond. Feb 26, 2018 Full Review Alex McLevy AV Club The main problem with Final Space, unfortunately, is its hero: Gary simply isn't an engaging enough character to carry this series. Rated: C+ Feb 26, 2018 Full Review Joyce Slaton Common Sense Media Space-set animated comedy not that funny, pretty violent. Rated: 2/5 Mar 1, 2018 Full Review Daniel Kurland Den of Geek Final Space dresses itself up as a goofy, nonsensical adventure through outer space, but underneath that costume is a deep, challenging series that strives to be much more than an animated comedy. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 27, 2018 Full Review Dave Trumbore Collider Final Space swerves so severely from comedic beats in one moment to dramatic gut-punches in the next that you'll find yourself laughing just before the wind gets knocked out of you and your jaw hangs open in disbelief. Jenna A This show is my #1 favorite!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/24 Full Review Alan M Final Space is honestly one of the most underrated shows out there. It took a few episodes to find its pace but the second half of the first season is when it really hit its stride. There are so many heart wrenching moments and so much feeling in this show. It is an utter, utter crime what has happened to it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/05/23 Full Review Ryan G This is one of the most honest and heartfelt animated shows of all time. There are bunches and bunches of adventures. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Michael Antony A Mikey's TV Review: Final Space (2018) Joining the likes of Futurama and Rick & Morty, the latest adult animated Sci-Fi streaming series, created and voiced by Olan Rogers is a hit and miss affair with great potential. Following the adventures of convicted criminal/astronaut Gary Godspeed and his alien friend, Mooncake, as they try to solve the mystery of Final Space. A starry voice cast with fantasy credentials aside - David Tennant (Dr. Who), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Gina Torres (Star Trek: Voyager), this occasionally hilarious indie debut often tries a bit too hard with the comedy, sometimes completely missing the mark (KVN for example can be quite irksome). Thankfully however, the main drive is the smart, intelligent story itself, and a heart not often seen in US animated affair. While not quite as deep as 'F Is For Family', there is a definite warmth on display throughout. And although the animation appears simple, the characters are mostly well rounded, believable and at times even moving. Fortunately the filmmakers are aware of the 'weaknesses' and intend to aim higher next time around. The potential is there for a truly great show. Fingers crossed. Mikey's TV Rating: 3/5* Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/26/23 Full Review Mare B I absolutely HATE linking/giving out my email address, but I had to with Rotten Tomatoes so I could give a review. This show is THAT good and THAT worth it! Hands down my favorite series, ever. When they took it off HBO Max, I was sad. Then, when I read they were essentially wiping the shows entire existence off the face of the planet for a "tax write off' for Warner and Discovery, I was pissed! This show deserved more seasons and at the very least, a proper ending. If you haven't watched this show, you absolutely should! There's still plenty of people making copies and spreading the word, despite Warner and Discovery's attempt to annihilate its existence. 10/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/16/23 Full Review Mikhail Spencer R Such a surprise. Never thought more about it but as you keep watching, the more you get involved with the characters. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
