Agent Zero is a cop that uses her own methods for dealing with criminals. After she unlawfully kills a rapist in a violent fashion, she is sent to prison and stripped of her badge. But very soon after, a rich politician's daughter is kidnapped by a ruthless gang. Agent Zero is let out of prison with the mission of going undercover to find the politician's daughter and return her safely. Using her deadly red handcuffs, she disposes of the criminals one by one.

Woah!! What a wonderfully mean spirited cruel movie!! I know it's based on a manga and there was so much stylish violence it really felt like an anime come to life. I kept thinking "okay, she's got them now" except it just got nastier as the movie went on. Also, that theme song reminds me so much of the Female Prisoner Scorpion song. In my dream world Meiko Kaji and Miki Sugimoto are making Female Prisoner Scorpion & Zero Woman movies together........
Geeeeeeez - this pinky violence number was absolutely brutal! Similar in feel to the Female Prisoner Scorpion series, even copping an almost identical theme song, this manages to extract all the nightmarish sleaze and nihilistic violence from those films with a rusty syringe and then smash the needle against our eyes for 90 minutes... It rules!

These villians were truly diabolical making the sweet revenge of Zero Woman all the more satisfying! Everytime she slings those magical red handcuffs my eyes were drawn to the screen. I'd rather be a proud slut at Nikkatsu than a sukeban cool girl for Toei. I'd get more screen time! Watching Toei Pinky Violence is always a strange experience after Nikkatsu Roman Porno. There's a nervous energy to these Toei films. They always feel too long and too random. Despite the Japanese perception of Roman Porno being elevated from pink film, there's enough symbiosis there with 1 hour lengths, actors, production histories, and stories. By contrast, Pinky Violence feels like the red-headed (handcuffed) step-child. This film needs more "Zero Woman." Her quest is lost by focusing too much on its men. If your main problem with most pinky violence films is that they aren't violent enough, you might enjoy this one! Zero Woman Red Handcuffs was obviously made to cash in on the success of films such as Female Prisoner Scorpion (and features an almost identical theme song) but it's actually closer to a grisly exploitation film in both style and execution. The plot follows the titular character; a disgraced police officer who is given a second chance when the daughter of a high ranking politician is kidnapped and she's needed to rescue the hostage. Noda's ultra-violent pinky film gushes with blood geysers and is cold to the bone with its rampant lack of care for human life and dirty politics. The entire thing is a visual delight while maintaining its thirst for suffering and sleaze which brings an even bigger amount of awe to the on screen atrocities, highlighting it all with quick cuts, sharp framing, eye popping angles and cool colors so you can soak in the depravity with style. Zero Woman is unquestionably a cinematic rush of nasty rage that's foaming at the mouth with over the top ferocity. Probably has one of the meanest torture scenes I've witnessed in a while.
