Wow!
An amazingly realised emotional drama, with a fantastic cast and a wonderful story telling element.
Lily Franky and Tae Kimura start the film off as a young couple and then slowly the film shifts, into their marriage, the lose of their child and their way of recovering. The film sleekly moves thru the years, sometimes with a title card for the change of year, a mark on a calendar, sometimes not but the scenes are linear in the scene of moving forward but not in the sense of possibly directly following each other. The film also includes historical events, earthquakes and the Aum Shinrikyo cult trial, to date the period and background.
