2018 Comedy Drama TRAILER for Maniac: Season 1 Trailer List
85% 104 Reviews Tomatometer 84% 1,000+ Ratings Audience Score Annie Landsberg and Owen Milgrim are two strangers who are drawn to the late stages of a mysterious pharmaceutical trial. Each has a different reason for participating in the experiment -- she is disaffected and aimless, fixated on broken relationships with her mother and sister, while he has struggled throughout his life with a disputed diagnosis of schizophrenia. The radical treatment, using pills that the inventor claims can repair anything about the mind, draws Annie, Owen and 10 other subjects into a three-day drug trial that they're told will permanently solve all of their problems, with no complications or side effects. Unfortunately, things don't go as planned. Read More Read Less

Andy F Absolutely brilliant. If you don't like anything that's bizarre, don't watch it. Everyone else should watch it. The writing is incredible. There are a lot of things you won't notice the first time you watch it, so watch it at least two times, if not three. Jonah Hill and Emma Stone are amazing. The plot is weird. The execution is perfect. It's a perfect series. There's absolutely nothing I can criticize about it. I have two favorite shows and this is one of them. (The other is Columbo.) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review Luis G Brillante serie que te lleva a varias películas futuristas. Un elenco de primera. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/24 Full Review Chris G unique and wonderful Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/07/24 Full Review John H This was a different series, which kept me watching it even though it was just decent. I wanted to know how it would end. There was humor, sadness, and weirdness throughout the mini-series, and you never knew what was coming next. I like movies/television that do something different, but this could have been better. Lauren Carroll Harris Guardian With grimy futuristic production design a la Blade Runner and Alien, Maniac actually has something profound to say about the alienation of people today. Jul 24, 2019 Full Review Jen Chaney New York Magazine/Vulture [Maniac] is wild, audacious, addictive, and teeters so precariously between reality and fantasy that the audience will immediately question what's real and what isn't. May 15, 2019 Full Review Allison Keene Collider When Maniac is good, it's funny, affecting, and fascinating; when it's not good, it's like having a conversation with a student in a Psych 101 class who wants to tell you about a dream they had last night and what it might mean. Rated: 3/5 May 15, 2019 Full Review Gael Fashingbauer Cooper CNET A weird, sad yet ultimately uplifting miniseries. Apr 6, 2023 Full Review Therese Lacson Nerdophiles There are holes in the plot, questions left unanswered, and a simple desire to just learn more. But, the ending leaves us satisfied. Mar 3, 2021 Full Review Victor Pineyro Seventh Art Studio It encompasses so much it's confusing. Extremely well acted and visually stunning, feels like a not so well executed Black Mirror episode.
