Margreet D Saw it pre Covid, still thinking about it. Nowadays we talk a lot about inclusion, this is about exclusion. Artists, but also if you look differently at art, if you are different according to social norms. People will correct you, or worse. Be ware. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/31/23 Full Review doran w This is a great movie. It's long, but don't worry, it goes by fast. Donnersmarck does an exceptional job of creating a time and place - much the same way Coppola did. He then adds the characters and events to tell the story with many facets and nuances. Things are rarely black and white, even the Third Reich and Communism, and the film give you some insight into the situations people found - and put - themselves in during that time and then on into the Economic Miracle of postwar West Germany. If you liked 'The Lives of Others', you will like this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Matthew Thrift Little White Lies "Never look away," we're told for the umpteenth time. But with von Donnersmarck serving as a dubious Virgil through the circles of 20th century history, you're better off just looking elsewhere. Rated: 1/5 Jul 9, 2019 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) Another misstep, this time considerably less forgivable. Rated: 2/5 Jul 8, 2019 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian Never Look Away is not without ambition and reach, and there is a real storytelling impulse. But the central performance of Schilling looks shruggingly uncertain. Rated: 2/5 Jul 5, 2019 Full Review Juan José Beteta Cinencuentro A film that has an effective story that unravels in different formal and narrative layers. Or in this case, a very satisfying film. Rated: 7/10 Jun 14, 2022 Full Review Lonita Cook KCTV5 News at 9 You feel compelled to stay with [the character] for the whole three hours.
