      dekkubo b It is such a great prequel Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Audience Member it's the most beautiful movie ever in this world Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Horrible title name for what is the final episode of the Arise: Ghost Pain/Ghost Tears/Ghost Stands Alone/Pyrophoric Cult series (aka Alternative Architecture). But, it took me a few re-watches to fully understand the plot and themes. This series completes the backstory as a prequel to the 1995 GITS movie, explains the origins of the Fire-Starter cybervirus and its yet unknown creator (the broker), and the players which tried to use this unique virus for their own goals, including Lt. Col Kurutsu of Unit 501. You will see how important this former colleague of Major Motoko Kusanagi is to the GITS universe, and the ultimate reveal of what is happening to cybernetically enhanced human beings in the world after nuclear World War III, and non-nuclear World War IV. This movie and series overall pairs also should be watched many times with the Stand Alone Complex 1st and 2nd GIG series, which is like watching the aftermath of the 1995 movie and further pushes the themes of consciousness, existence, and memories, to push the boundaries of what the future of human evolution will become, of transcending physical society and national borders.
