      Critics Consensus

Dark, intelligent, and stylish to a fault, Gone Girl plays to director David Fincher's sick strengths while bringing the best out of stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.

Lucas S Gone girl com certeza é o meu filme favorito, Ele é simplesmente perfeito a vingança o plot a atuação é o elenco é incrível! nunca vou amar outro filme igual eu amo esse. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review Carol S Interesting movie - it holds your attention. That being said, I do strongly dislike that this movie is promoted as "inspired by" the murder of Lacy Peterson and her unborn by her husband Scott. There are many murders and kidnappings to have been "inspired by" without picking the convicted murderer/innocent pregnant wife as the inspiration. If it truly inspired the storyline, why say it? It's disrespectful to the actual victims. It is anctually ann opposite scenario wouldn't you say? But the dialogue is clever, the storyline is interesting, and I'll watch Ben Affleck anytime of the day, good or bad movie. This one was a good one. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review Joseph Tutorials 92% really good acted i do think the movie should of ended a lot earlier but this movie keeps you on your seat very good film Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/03/24 Full Review Robert S A brilliant psychological thriller with plenty of plot twists to keep people like me interested. I can't find any obvious fault with it (apart from Ben Affleck's naff 00s hairstyle). Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review matthieu r Dramatic, terrible and horrific. Olivia Luder One Room With A View Gone Girl is the movie Flynn fans hoped for and sets Pike up for a worthy Oscar nomination but Fincher disappoints in failing to improve upon the already-brilliant book. Rated: 4/5 May 25, 2019 Full Review Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online Gone Girl is a rather funhouse version of this fateful couple's relationship that teeters on depravity, desperation and bitter irony in its every step. Rated: A Sep 1, 2017 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire 'Gone Girl' may come advertised as a thriller, but that's Fincher being a trickster-he's gone and made the curtest, nastiest, most acidic black comedy about the marital accord since 'The War of the Roses.' Jun 18, 2016 Full Review Erick Estrada Cinegarage Without prescriptions or clichés, Fincher manages to show the lights and shadows of the two central characters: the perfect marriage of the common man and the femme fatale. [Full review in Spanish] Oct 13, 2023 Full Review Jason Adams The Film Experience Tonally sloppy. Things happen to Ben Affleck; Ben Affleck doesn't make things happen. Aug 31, 2023 Full Review Manuel São Bento MSB Reviews Yet another evidence of David Fincher's masterful visual filmmaking. With seamless editing, a memorable score, and fantastic camera work, Gone Girl is technically magnificent, but it's Gillian Flynn's debut screenplay that steals the spotlight.
